| Michelle Chen | President | Michelle Chen has a JD and MPA from the University of Washington and is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College. She currently works for the Seattle Housing Authority and previously worked for the City of Seattle Mayor’s Office and Office of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell. She began her career as a real estate and land use attorney at Hillis Clark Martin Peterson. |
| David Ko | President-Elect | David Ko practices in Keller Rohrback’s nationally recognized complex litigation group, where he represents plaintiffs primarily in the areas of consumer protection and ERISA class action litigation. Prior to joining the firm, David completed a two year clerkship for the Honorable Ricardo S. Martinez, United States District Judge in the Western District of Washington. |
| Sung Yang | Treasurer | Sung Yang is director, corporate counsel at the Starbucks Coffee Company. Prior to Starbucks, Sung worked at Expeditors International of Washington and Davis Wright Tremaine. Sung has served as a KABA board member since 2007. |
| Jessica Yu | Secretary | Jessica Yu is an associate attorney at Wong Fleming P.C. She focuses her practice on tax, bankruptcy, and immigration. While a student at Seattle University School of Law, Jessica founded the Korean American Law Student Association (KALSA) in 2006. |
| Jerry Chiang | Director | Jerry is the immediate past president of KABA. He is the associate general counsel at Experience Hendrix, L.L.C., the family company that manages and administers the music and intellectual property rights of the late musician Jimi Hendrix. Previously Jerry was an attorney at Stoel Rives LLP and received his BA and JD from the University of Washington. |
| John Chung | Director | John is a past president of KABA and has been a board member since 2005. He currently works at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. |
| James Chung | Director | James is an attorney for the Washington State EB-5 Fund where his practice focuses on providing effective solutions for those involved in the EB-5 process. He has been serving as the webmaster of the KABA website from 2007-2009 and 2010 to present. James received his BA in Economics from the University of Washington and his JD from the Seattle University School of Law. |
| Sam Chung | Director | Sam, a UW Law graduate, started his professional career with a Division I judicial clerkship in Seattle. He then attended NYU’s graduate tax program and practiced corporate tax with a large law firm in NYC. He has specialized in international tax planning (supply chain) ) at the business consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal for the past five years. Sam knows his namesake at Lee Anav Chung LLP but they are not related. |
| Mindy DeYoung | Director | Mindy is an Environmental Law/Commercial Litigation associate at Riddell Williams, P.S. She clerked for WA State Supreme Court Justice Charles Johnson and is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law. |
| Chris Kang | Director | Chris is a senior associate at Stella L. Pitts & Associates, PLLC focusing on family law, litigation, and business transactions. He attended the University of Washington School of Law and University of California, Berkeley for his undergraduate degree. |
| Soojee Kim | Director | Soojee is an associate at Beetham Tran Law Firm, PLLC where her practice focuses on family law and personal injury. She holds an MBA and JD from Seattle University, and she wants to assist those in the Korean community who struggle with the English language barrier. |
| Peter Kim | Director | Peter is an attorney at Swedish Medical Center and also serves as its Research Compliance Officer. Before joining Swedish in 2007, Peter worked at Quorum Review, Inc. and Davis Wright Tremaine. Peter is a past president and has been an active member of KABA since 1999. |
| Miry Kim | Director | Miry is an attorney at the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to joining the FTC, Miry was a litigation attorney at the Reed McClure law firm and a deputy prosecutor at the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Miry earned a BA in History from Reed College and JD from the University of Washington. She has served as Treasurer and Vice President of the Asian Bar Association of Washington. She has also served on the Joint Asian Judicial Evaluations Committee in the State of Washington. |
| Margaret Pak | Director | Margaret is an associate at Corr Cronin Michelson Baumgardner & Preece LLP and received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley and her JD from the University of Washington School of Law. |
| Delight Roberts | Director | Delight is a 1995 graduate of the University of Utah College of Law. She has expertise in children’s issues and technology and has worked as a lobbyist and attorney. She is currently a Senior Policy Strategist working on children’s privacy and safety policy at Microsoft. |
| Keith Seo | Director | Keith is a business and real estate attorney at Riddell Williams P.S. He is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law and enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs. |
| Juliana Wong | Director | Juliana is an Of Counsel at Stafford Frey Cooper. She is also a member of the Asian Counseling Referral Service board, member of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign Executive Committee, and member of the WSBA Professionalism Committee. |
| Julie Yee | Director | Julie is excited to return to KABA after a long hiatus. She hopes to bring her interest in forging liaisons with other minority bar associations to KABA this year. She is currently a solo practitioner, specializing in the area of trust and estates with a focus on estate planning for families. She received her LLM in taxation from the University of Washington, her JD from Seattle University, and her BA from the University of Pennsylvania. |
