KABA is a charter member of the JAJEC and serves as chair of JAJEC for the 2012 calendar year. KABA also served as chair in 2007. KABA members sit on the JAJEC and evaluate, conduct reference checks, and interview candidates for any Washington judicial position and issue ratings for both the Governor’s appointment process and to the general public for elections. A minimum ofthree years practice required to serve on this committee.
KABA invests in the future of the legal community by maintaining close relationships with local law schools by supporting student associations and inviting student liaisons to sit on the Board of Directors. KABA seeks to match law students to practitioners in its Mentorship Program and annually awards a scholarship to a first year law student who has demonstrated a commitment to serving the Korean American community.
